Google Pay is a digital wallet platform and online payment system developed by Google to power in-app, online, and in-person contactless purchases on mobile devices, enabling users to make payments with Android phones, tablets, or watches.

Unified Payments Interface is an instant real-time payment system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India. The interface facilitates inter-bank peer-to-peer and person-to-merchant transactions. UPI is powered by Immediate Payment Service.

Your UPI PIN is the number you enter whenever you make a transaction or add a new payment account.

1. Wait 24 hours

When you enter the wrong UPI PIN 3 times continuously then you have two options you can reset your PIN or wait 24 hours to make your next transaction. You can’t send or receive money during this time.

2. Reset UPI PIN

When you exceed the maximum attempts of entering a UPI PIN then in this case you cannot approve payment from your account. So you have to set a new UPI PIN and your problem will be resolved.

How to Reset your UPI PIN

  1. Open the Google Pay app.
  2. At the top right, tap your photo (Profile).
  3. Tap Bank account.
  4. Tap the bank account you want to edit.
  5. Tap Forgot UPI PIN.
  6. Enter the last 6 digits of your debit card number and the expiry date.
  7. Create a new UPI PIN and remember it.
  8. Enter the OTP you get by SMS.

Apart from the Google Pay app, Exceeded maximum attempts of entering UPI PIN can be observed in Airtel, Axis, Yono SBI, BHIM, Kotak, Canara, IDBI, IndusInd, Bank of Baroda, IOB, KVB, GCash, Paytm, PhonePe, Mobikwik, app, etc.
