According to an official source, the government has blocked 232 apps that are run by foreign companies, some of which are Chinese, for betting, gambling, and providing loans without permission.
Following instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has issued orders to block these apps.

“Last night, an order was issued to block 138 apps that were involved in betting, gambling, and money laundering. Separately, 94 apps that provide unauthorized loan services have been blocked. These apps were being run by Chinese and other offshore companies.
The official, who did not wish to disclose the apps’ names, stated to PTI that they were posing a threat to the country’s economic stability.
